Payments & Wallet Terms
How Centiment credits, posting charges, reversals, and refunds work.
1. What the wallet is
Your Centiment wallet shows credits that can be used for designated actions inside the Service. Wallet credits are not a bank account, deposit, investment, cryptocurrency, or government-issued currency. They do not earn interest.
Unless Centiment expressly launches a withdrawal or transfer feature under separate terms, credits cannot be redeemed for cash, withdrawn, transferred to another user, or used outside Centiment.
2. Current prices
| Action | Charge | When charged |
|---|---|---|
| Publish a post | 1¢ | When the post is accepted for publication |
| Publish a reply | 2¢ | When the reply is accepted for publication |
| Retweet | 1¢ | The first time you activate the retweet |
| Like | Free | No wallet charge |
The applicable price is displayed in the interface before you act. We may change prices prospectively, but a new price applies only after it is displayed. Taxes, if any become applicable, will be disclosed as required.
3. Charges and moderation
A post or reply that is held, blocked, or awaiting your confirmation is not charged until it is accepted for publication. Choosing to publish after a kindness nudge authorises the displayed charge. Removing published content later does not automatically reverse a valid charge.
A retweet is charged only the first time it is activated. Undoing it does not refund the charge, and re-activating a previously charged retweet does not create a second charge under the current implementation.
4. Funding and promotional credits
New accounts may receive promotional or welcome credits. These credits have no cash value and may be subject to expiry or limits disclosed when issued.
You may purchase $5, $10, or $25 of Centiment balance through a one-time checkout operated by Bachs or another payment provider we identify at checkout. Applicable taxes or payment charges, if any, will be disclosed as required. Purchased balance is credited only after Centiment receives a verified successful-payment notification from the provider. A checkout return page or receipt by itself does not add balance.
The checkout may offer payment methods based on your country and may collect contact, billing, or mobile-money information needed for payment processing, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and legal compliance. The payment provider's own terms and privacy notice also apply to its checkout.
5. Errors and refunds
All completed wallet actions are normally final. We may restore credits for a duplicate charge, technical failure, unauthorised transaction, or where the law requires a refund. A moderation disagreement alone does not automatically entitle a user to a refund, but we will consider the circumstances.
Approved purchase refunds are returned through the original payment method. When a top-up is refunded, reversed, or lost in a payment dispute, the corresponding unused Centiment balance may be removed. If some of that balance has already been used, we may restrict wallet activity while the resulting discrepancy is reviewed. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or cancellation right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Report a disputed wallet entry promptly and include the date, action, and amount. We may ask for information needed to verify the account and transaction.
6. Records, restrictions, and changes
Your wallet page is the primary record of your balance and activity. If a displayed balance conflicts with verified ledger records, the verified records control, subject to your right to challenge an error. We may restrict wallet activity to address fraud, security, legal requirements, or misuse.
These terms are part of the Terms of Service. Material changes will be announced through the Service or another appropriate channel.
A wallet dispute contact will be published before paid top-ups launch.
